Known in Portuguese as Pastéis de Feijão de Torres Vedras, they are a very typical treat from the area of Torres Vedras, north of Lisbon, with a history dating back to the end of the 19th century.
INGREDIENTS: sugar, pasteurised EGG yolk, haricot beans (10%), water, ground ALMOND, WHEAT flour, margarine [oils and simple vegetable fats (palm oil and its derivatives and sunflower or soybean oil), water, salt, emulsifiers (monodiglycerides and lecithin), flavouring, natural organic colouring (P-carotene), anti-oxidant: extract rich in tocopherols and ascorbyl palmitate, and acidity regulator (citric acid)], potassium sorbate.
