Pêssegos Confitados de Elvas
The bigger cousins of the famed Elvas plums (immortalised by Agatha Christie, and present at the most discerning tables), these peaches are a treat on their own, or combined with a nice ripe cheese and a good wine.
Our peaches are preserved in a sugar syrup for a minimum of two months, then drained and dried in the gorgeous sun of the Alentejo. They have a dense tangy bite with a taste that brings back memories of a holiday in the sunshine, friends around the table, and a winning lottery ticket.
